Finish Selection for a Kitchen Remodel: A Working Method
April 21, 2026

Finish selection is rarely a straight line. Each decision narrows the next, and a single late change can ripple through the schedule and the budget.
Our working order begins with cabinetry, because it sets the visual mass of the room. Counters follow, then tile, then hardware. Plumbing and lighting are confirmed in parallel with cabinet drawings so lead times stay aligned.
We sample everything at full scale, in the actual room, under daylight and evening light. A tile that sings in a small chip can fall flat across a full backsplash.
Documentation matters as much as the choice itself. Every selection lands in a single specification document the client, contractor, and trades can reference without ambiguity.
